Parents and Friends Association (PFA)
Our PFA – A Vital Part of the St Dominic’s Priory School Community
At St Dominic’s Priory School, we are proud to have a thriving and dedicated Parents and Friends Association (PFA) who play a crucial role in supporting our school community.
The PFA gives generously of their time throughout the year, working voluntarily to organise events, run fundraisers, and support school life in countless practical ways. From Christmas fairs, Prep discos, Macmillan coffee mornings and pre-owned uniform shops, to name but a few, the funds raised by the PFA directly contribute to enhancing the experience of every student at our school.
Thanks to their tireless efforts, we’ve been able to invest in additional resources, enrichment opportunities, and special projects that go beyond the curriculum—helping to create a fun, inspiring and engaging environment for our students.
But the PFA does more than just raise funds. Their involvement strengthens the spirit of community that makes St Dominic’s so special. They provide a warm welcome to new families, foster connections between parents, and offer vital support to staff and students alike at special assemblies, open mornings and generally assisting with tea and cake emergencies!
There is a well-established link between parental involvement and student achievement. When parents are actively engaged in school life—as our PFA members are—it positively impacts not only the school as a whole, but also how well children thrive both academically and socially.
We are incredibly grateful for the energy, commitment, and passion our PFA brings to St Dominic’s. They truly help make our school a place where every child can flourish.
New members and helpers are always welcome – whether it’s a couple of hours for a particular event or a bigger role if you have the time – as the saying goes “many hands make light work” and this is absolutely true.
So, if you are interested in joining the PFA, or have any fundraising ideas, please do get in touch or come along to the next advertised meeting (usually in the weekly bulletin).
