Music
With specialist teachers, small class sizes and a personalised learning experience, Music is at the heart of St Dominic’s, from pre-school age through to GCSE. Equally appealing, for both students and their parents, are the activities that take place outside of the classroom. We have a well-equipped music classroom with state-of-the-art technology, as well as smaller practice rooms for private instrument and singing lessons.
Every term, we host a vast timetable of extra-curricular clubs and co-curricular activities as part of our curricular enrichment programme at St Dominic’s. These activities include prep choir, senior choir, orchestra, percussion group, keyboard club, music technology club, ukulele and guitar club and many other smaller ensembles. We give our student’s numerous opportunities to perform in front of small and large audiences. These include the bi-annual school productions, termly performance showcases, the EY and KS1 Nativity, Stations of the Cross and other small-scale performances. There are also many opportunities to take the students out into the community to perform in local venues, and also in class and in assemblies.
We also offer a number of peripatetic lessons on a wide range of different instruments, with many of our prep and senior students choosing to have weekly tuition.
