Performing Arts

The Performing Arts Department at St Dominic’s promotes a learning environment in modern and innovative ways, to enhance a personalised curriculum for every student. All teaching staff have a passion and dedication to raising the achievement of all students within the arts, cementing the committed, respectful and creative attitudes which underpin the school’s ethos.

There is a new dance and drama studio which allows students to perform in a well-appointed and professional space. The school theatre has a traditional proscenium-arch stage with lighting and sound for performances.

Apart from the many music extra-curricular activities, we also offer a musical theatre club – where singing, acting and dancing are combined to create fantastic productions. LAMDA lessons are available at St Dominic’s on a weekly basis, giving student’s confidence and the opportunity to develop their public speaking and acting skills. Music, dance and drama are taught as part of the curriculum from pre-school age through to GCSE, highlighting the importance of the arts and creativity within the school and giving all students an opportunity to shine.
